Law Society appointments feature Hodge Jones & Allen duo
Daniel Fitzpatrick, housing partner, has been elected to the Law Society’s Council as its housing representative. He is also a long-standing member of the Society’s Housing Committee, since 2013.
The Law Society Council has 100 seats, comprising 61 geographical constituencies and 39 special interest groups and areas of practice. The Council agrees the strategic direction of the Society’s work, including the annual business plan and budget and changes to the Society’s policy and rules.
Daniel says: “I’m delighted to be joining the Law Society Council and see it as natural extension of my work on the Housing Committee. It’s crucial that solicitors lead the way in lobbying government on the development of law reform and legal practice, and I am very much looking forward to representing my peers on wide-range of housing issues.”
The role of the CJC is to keep under review and promote improvements in civil litigation and provide guidance to the profession. The CJC is chaired by David Marshall and until recently, Patrick Allen, the firm’s senior partner was a co-opted member.
