Heathrow Pause Protesters Receive Suspended Sentences
Three defendants were today sentenced in respect of the conspiracy to cause public nuisance for a plan to close London’s Heathrow Airport by using drones in the Restricted Fly Zone in September 2019.
All three defendants – Mike Lynch White, Roger Hallam and Larch Maxey – received suspended sentences.
Raj Chada, Partner at Hodge Jones and Allen, said: “It is a relief to our clients that they will not face immediate prison as this action was some time ago. The focus should not be on these protests but on the failure of the successive Government to deal with the climate crisis and authorising the extension of Heathrow Pause.”
