GRENFELL TOWER INQUIRY: CORE PARTICIPANTS MUST SUBMIT APPLICATIONS BY FRIDAY
People who want to be a core participant in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry must submit their application to the Inquiry by Friday 8 September 2017.
Any individual, organisation or institution that has a specific interest in the work of the Inquiry can apply to be a core participant, granting them special rights in the Inquiry process. These include receiving disclosure of documentation, being represented and making legal submissions, suggesting questions and receiving advance notice of the Inquiry’s report.
It has been stated that the following will be granted core participant status once they apply:
- Survivors of the fire at Grenfell Tower
- All individuals that were residents of the Tower, at the time of the fire
- The families of those that died or were injured and, as a result, are unable to participate in the Inquiry.
However, core participant status will not automatically be granted, so even if you fall into the above category, you still must apply.
Those who do not fall into the above categories can still apply to be a core participant if they are deemed to have a significant interest in matters relating to the Inquiry.
We’re currently in the process of making an application for over 30 clients to be granted core participant status to ensure their involvement in the inquiry. Anybody wishing to be included in this application or wanting to advice about their rights or application can contact our free helpline on 0808 274 9308.
