Successful settlement of Road Traffic Accident Claim for passenger

Anne Sanders, Partner in HJA’s Personal Injury Team has recently successfully settled a case for a passenger involved in a road traffic accident where the driver was uninsured.

The driver of the car was speeding and lost control of the car crashing into a lamp post, at approximately 70 mph. Anne’s client, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered significant injuries when he was ejected from the car. He fractured his skull, both collar bones and ribs. An arm and elbow were also badly fractured and he has had a number of operations to repair his elbow. Unfortunately, he continues to suffer from his injuries.

Commenting on the settlement, Anne said, “I am pleased I have been able to gain a settlement of £150,000 for my client. My approach to this case resulted in an early exchange of information with the compensators”. The consequences of the injuries sustained by my client will have a long term effect as he continues to suffer problems with the mobility of his upper limb. However, this settlement will enable him to get the ongoing treatment he needs and help put his life back on track”.
