The Bobath Centre Team And Guests Come Together At Hodge Jones & Allen For Launch Of Their Annual Review Service
On Tuesday, 29 November, the Medical Negligence Team, headed by Agata Usewicz were delighted to be able to host an important launch event for the incredible Bobath Centre.
Guests heard about the Bobath’s new review service and certainly left the event with a greater insight into what life is like for an adult with Cerebral Palsy.
They heard some powerfully moving stories from the panel of speakers, along with some striking statistics. The panel included four speakers living with CP and they agreed with the Centre’s research findings that over 70% of people aren’t offered an annual review of their condition by healthcare professionals.
As 91% of adults with CP use physiotherapy for pain relief and management, the need for annual reviews is extremely high. It was reassuring to hear that the team at The Bobath Centre want to ensure that greater numbers of people receive an annual review. In addition, they confirmed to the audience, that they will continue to push for the setting of annual GP appointments to review each person’s condition and their individual needs to enable them to live positively with CP.
All at Hodge Jones & Allen were delighted to meet Madeleine Cassidy, Chief Executive who is working tirelessly, with her team and trustees, to provide therapy to those who have cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions. The Centre is also the UK’s premier centre for health professionals and therapists across the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the event, Agata said “What a pleasure to meet so many inspirational people! Gaining the right medical care is so important for all those living with CP.”
