Hodge Jones & Allen listed in The Times Top 200 Best Law Firms 2021 Guide
Hodge Jones & Allen is delighted to once again be listed in the Times Best Law Firms annual guide.
Each year Statista, an international market research firm, ask solicitors in England and Wales to recommend the best law firms in various categories covering business, public and private client fields.
This year, the firm retained ranking for Human Rights, Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence. In addition, the firm was also recognised for its work in the following additional practice areas:
The guide includes comments on particular work areas. This year, the following was highlighted:
- “Recent prominent cases include representing 42 clients at the Grenfell Tower inquiry, including advising on rehousing matters, and acting for about 300 demonstrators arrested unlawfully by the Metropolitan Police during the Extinction Rebellion protests in October 2019.
- “Less well known, but with far-reaching potential consequences, has been its success in getting the attorney-general to quash the inquest verdict into the death of Ella Kissi-Debrah, a nine-year old girl who died after an asthma attack in 2013, and order a fresh inquest. Jocelyn Cockburn, a partner, unearthed new evidence that high levels of air pollution in London — left un tackled by successive governments — contributed to her death. The outcome of the new inquest, due to take place late this year, could set a precedent for cases involving other deaths from asthma and related respiratory conditions.”
Jayesh Kunwardia, Partner, Head of the Housing Department commented “We are delighted to be recommended by our fellow solicitors and barristers. Our thanks to them for taking the time to highlight our work and the dedication of our lawyers.”
