Landscapers – Client’s Story Told
Landscapers airs tonight on Sky Atlantic. It is the true story of Christopher and Susan Edwards who were convicted of murdering Susan’s parents in 2014.
Darrell Ennis-Gayle, a criminal defence solicitor at Hodge Jones & Allen represented Susan Edwards in the proceedings and is loosely charactised in the show.
Darrell acted as a story consultant for Landscapers having met with Ed Sinclair, the writer. Speaking about their meetings, Darrell said “I could see immediately that Ed was approaching the story from a very balanced and unbiased perspective. My hope is viewers will see that despite the extremely dark and tragic circumstances surrounding the events there is still some humanity and that nothing is ever black and white in a case like this.”
Susan and Christopher maintain their innocence to this day.
Darrell is a Senior Associate at Hodge Jones & Allen specialising in all areas of criminal defence. His caseload includes murder cases, serious drug offences, terrorism and sexual offences. He is an advocate in both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. He joined Hodge Jones & Allen in 2016 and dedicates his time to ensuring all his clients receive access to justice.
Landscapers stars Olivia Colman and recounts the 1998 murders of Nottingham residents William and Patricia Wycherley.
