Great success for Caroline Liggins and Her Team
Caroline Liggins and her team have secured another significant not guilty verdict. On November 28, 2023, their client was arrested and subsequently faced trial for a Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) offence, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
In preparation for the trial, Caroline Liggins instructed Tayyiba Bajwa from Doughty Street Chambers. Caroline and her team worked tirelessly, gathering detailed instructions from their client, making numerous disclosure requests, and enlisting expert witnesses to ensure the best possible defence.
Throughout the trial, Tayyiba Bajwa skilfully navigated the complexities of the case, presenting compelling arguments and evidence. Her exceptional performance convinced the jury, resulting in a not-guilty verdict and the client’s acquittal on all charges.
The defendant expressed immense relief at the outcome, which marks another successful defence led by Caroline Liggins and her dedicated team.
Caroline Liggins commented on the verdict: “This is a great result for my client who from the outset protested his innocence. Thank you to Tayyiba and Shivani for all their hard work on this case. ”
