About Rónán Stewart
Rónán is a trainee solicitor currently assisting Ken Brough in the Personal Injury team. Before this he assisted Sasha Barton in the Civil Liberties team on a range of cases including actions against the police, prisons and Home Office.
As part of his training Rónán has also completed seats in the Crime team (assisting Raj Chada and Mike Schwarz working primarily on protest cases and the Undercover Policing Inquiry) and the Medical Negligence team (assisting Dawn Treloar on cases where claimants have been injured by medical accidents across all fields of care).
Rónán joined Hodge Jones & Allen as a paralegal in our Civil Liberties team in 2021 where he assisted Jocelyn Cockburn, Susie Labinjoh, Gimhani Eriyagolla and Bríd Doherty on a varied and complex case load including inquests and civil claims against the police and public authorities.
Prior to joining Hodge Jones & Allen, Rónán was a criminal defence paralegal at a leading criminal defence and human rights firm in Belfast. Before this he interned at REDRESS working on a number of international human rights matters with a focus on representing victims of torture. He also volunteered for the Victims’ Rights Working Group to monitor International Criminal Court developments relating to victims’ rights.
