About George Steel
George is a solicitor in our Criminal Defence team. He has a wide range of experience in both general and serious criminal defence work, assisting clients from the police investigation stage all the way up to the Crown Court.
Prior to joining HJA, he spent five years working for a boutique criminal defence firm in London. During this time, he qualified as a solicitor and obtained Master of Laws specialising in white-collar crime.
George is a compelling advocate, having had the quality of his representation acknowledged by District Judges in the Magistrates Court. His pragmatic and understanding approach assists clients accused of allegations of a complex nature or those unfamiliar with the criminal justice system.
George invariably strives to obtain the best results for his clients, covering both legally aided and privately funded cases.
Client Comments
- “The services provided by Hodge Jones & Allen are very much appreciated when it is common practice these days for the perpetrators of offences to make false and malicious allegations against their victims, In this case the complainant made a false allegation of common assault whilst she herself being a landlady (according to her) had in my view committed offences of harassment and illegal eviction under the Protection from Eviction and Harassment Act of 1977 for which there is plenty of evidence. However police still consider it to be a civil matter. Hodge Jones & Allen are providing a fabulous and essential service in regard to such matters.”
- “He was extremely supportive and informative in a legal situation that I thought was potentially very serious.”
- “One of the Best companies for legal advice and legal representative with an outstanding outcome. Easy to work with them and very professional and knoledgeable lawyers.”
- “We were then appointed George Steel, as our solicitor, who did a brilliant job at putting our son at ease and also during the interview as we had the best outcome we could have wished for: No Further Action.”
