About Ben Follows

Ben joined Hodge Jones & Allen in July 2024 as a Paralegal in the Criminal Defence Team. He currently works alongside colleagues in the Undercover Policing Inquiry helping to represent dozens of core participants.

Prior to joining Hodge Jones & Allen, Ben studied the Barrister Training Course (Masters) at BPP University, and graduated from the University of Leicester with a Law LLB in 2023. Throughout his studies, Ben has been committed to helping others and raising awareness for social mobility initiatives as Chairperson of Leicester University Law Society (2022-23), and as Candidate Ambassador at Bridging the Bar (2023-24). He has previously featured in the Legal 500 Future Lawyers, with his article “No Russell Group? No Problem.” highlighting the changing culture amongst the legal industry in job applications and a greater focus on merit vs an individual’s University.

Recently, Ben volunteered at Advocate where he worked on the Bar in the Community initiative helping advertise tailored volunteering opportunities to legal professionals. In addition, Ben has previously worked as a Summer Intern at the First Tier (Mental Health) Tribunal where he triaged incoming Section 2 Mental Health Act appeals. He has also helped assist Litigants in Person at Leicester Magistrates’ Court and County Court on a range of civil and family proceedings, such as, explaining the court process, being a McKenzie friend, and providing legal resources to those in need.
