At Hodge Jones & Allen, we are passionate about access to justice and ensuring that everyone – regardless of their circumstances – is able to obtain advice and information in relation to their legal options and asserting their rights. In particular we want to ensure that survivors of childhood abuse feel empowered to hold their abusers and those organisations responsible to account.

To that end, we have set up a free legal advice clinic.

Free Legal Advice Clinic

The clinic is run by Olivia Coffey, a Senior Associate in the Civil Liberties department. Olivia has acted for survivors of abuse over a number of years, bringing claims directly against perpetrators of abuse and the organisations either responsible for the abuser, or that had let the individual down by failing to protect them.

Speaking with clients, as well as various organisations and charities that work with survivors of childhood abuse, it has become increasingly apparent that not all individuals are made aware of their legal options and the ways in which they can seek accountability and recognition for the abuse they were subjected to. The intention of the legal clinic is to counter this and ensure that those who would like legal advice, but are not sure where or how to seek it, are provided with this free of charge, on an entirely confidential basis and with absolutely no obligation arising from this.

If you would like to speak with Olivia Coffey please get in touch with her directly by emailing ocoffey@hja.net or by calling 0808 296 7694.

The legal clinic is able to offer a 30 minute advice session with a solicitor.

If you would like advice from the legal clinic, or wish to make a referral, please complete the form on the right.

The clinic will run monthly, and it may be that spaces are limited. Once you have submitted your form, someone from Hodge Jones & Allen’s Civil Liberties department will then be in touch to confirm the time and date of your appointment.
