Hodge Jones & Allen is nationally recognised as one of the leading law firms for bringing civil actions against police. Our renowned team is fearless in challenging the police.

We have a longstanding history of successfully holding the police to account for abuses of power, unlawful acts or omissions, and misconduct. By doing this, we achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients. Our dedicated solicitors have secured many awards for their determination in holding the police to account where the police have acted illegally or unfairly.

We act for individuals who’ve been ill-treated at the hands of the police or who’ve been wrongly caught up in the criminal justice system, including protestors and victims of crime. We’ve acted for many high profile clients, but equally we act for those whose cases don’t receive any publicity. Whatever the nature of your claim, you’ll receive the same high level of service tailored to your needs.

Actions Against The Police

PROTESTORS BRINGING CLAIMS AGAINST THE POLICE: Anti-English Defence League – We represented over 60 protesters who were arrested after participating in a demonstration against the English Defence League through Tower Hamlets in 2013. Among the claims were misfeasance, on the basis that the police arrested for intelligence gathering purposes, rather than a genuine belief that the protesters had committed an offence. The police have accepted that there is an issue over the legality of the arrests.
